If you are looking for somewhere to live and are considering the Bloomsbury Estate as one of your options, you will need to make sure you have an active application in place with Birmingham City Council. To register for housing you will need to make contact with Birmingham City Council’s Home Choice Team. Please use the link below to access the site.

The City Council operate a choice-based lettings system. Once you have an active application and PIN number, you will be able to bid for properties that are advertised on the Birmingham Home Choice website.
All applications for housing will be reviewed in line with Birmingham City Council’s Allocations Policy.
If you are successful and have been allocated a Bloomsbury EMB property, we will then complete the allocation process with you. We will:
- Take you to view the property
- If you accept the property (and have satisfied the necessary checks) you will be signed up for the property by the Allocations Officer.
- Make sure we go through the terms and conditions of your tenancy. Please be advised, your tenancy is with Birmingham City Council. Bloomsbury EMB will manage your tenancy on behalf of Birmingham City Council.
- Complete a settling in visit, once you have signed for the property. This usually will take place 10 days after your tenancy start date.
- Monitor your tenancy for the first 12 Months (Introductory Tenancy) to see that you have managed this in accordance the conditions of tenancy. At this point we will either confirm that you have been successful. You will then be notified that you now have a Secure Tenancy. If there is an issue with your tenancy within the first 12 months, we can either look to extend your probationary period or look to seek possession of your property. This is all in conjunction with Birmingham City Council’s Tenancy Management Framework
If you intend to leave your Bloomsbury EMB property for any reason, please make sure you contact the Allocations Officer at Medway Tower Office on 0121 464 1550. They will then make arrangements to come out to your property and complete a pre-end of tenancy visit. You will then be advised to complete a Notice to quit form that will officially end your tenancy. We will also instruct you of any charges outstanding in relation to the rent, or the property itself.
You may want to move home if your home is too small, too big or you need to move to another area or because your health has got worse so you can no longer live in your home. You may also need to move as an emergency because of your individual needs e.g. because of a threat of violence.
There are two main ways of moving. The first is through a mutual exchange. To do this you will need to register on line either through
