Our specialist Neighbourhood and Safer Neighbourhood team deal with all aspects of housing and neighbourhood management for the estate. Ensuring everyone complies with the terms of their tenancy is a key aspect of our approach to ensure the best quality of life for everyone. The majority of tenants do – thank you it is appreciated.
As part of this approach, one of the key priorities is the prevention and management of anti-social behaviour. This can be a difficult area and anti-social behaviour takes many forms. We have a range of tools at our disposal including our own in house mediation service. We also work closely with our partners to ensure sustainable tenancies and a safer neighbourhood.
The team offers appointments and home visits. Anyone experiencing difficulty with this and any other concerns about their tenancy can contact our team on 0121 464 1550.
Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) If you are suffering from Anti-Social behaviour on the estate, you can report this to our Safer Neighbourhoods Officer.
We know that ASB can have a serious effect on people’s lives. However it is also important that people are realistic about what anti-social behaviour is and what we can do about it. If you are unsure as to what constitutes Anti-Social Behaviour, please contact the Safer Neighbourhoods Officer on 0121 464 1550.
As you know we have a number of flats on the Bloomsbury Estate. Living in flats means that you will almost inevitably hear your neighbours at some time. That is normal. Also most people will cause some noise occasionally but that does not mean the there is a problem with Anti-Social Behaviour. If this is the case, we would advise you to speak with your neighbour in the first instance.
Bloomsbury EMB will only intervene if there is the need to open a case file. We will assess the best way forward at this point. We will interview the alleged perpetrator as part of the process and work towards a resolution for all parties involved. Where possible, we may also ask both parties to accept mediation to see if we can resolve problems without having to take further action.
However if the case is serious and requires Bloomsbury EMB to consider legal action, we will work in conjunction with Birmingham City Council’s Legal Team to assess whether there is a prospect of legal action being successful.
If you would like to report Anti-Social Behaviour, you can email us on customerservices@bloomsburyemb.com
